Conference, Meeting of Fracture Mechanics Specialists in Hamburg, Germany

DVM AK Bruch (Fracture), 52nd meeting

Engineering Critical Assessment of components: Analysis, testing and application

It’s meanwhile the 52nd time that German specialist found together for their annual meeting to discuss latest developments in research and application of fracture mechanics, fatigue and damage mechanics methods. Specialists from Universities, Research institutions and industry met for 2 days in lovely Hamburg to exchange results, findings and views on this important topic for metal and safety relevant industry.

An interesting and varied conference program gave the participants many new insights into current developments in fracture research. For IWT-Solutions AG, represented by Prof. Dr. Peter Langenberg, the new damage-mechanics methods for component safety and the contributions to fracture and damage modelling on ductile cast iron were particularly important. We expect that these new methods can be used soon in practice and are grateful for the cooperation with the IEHK of the RWTH Aachen and the BA Freiberg on these topics.

At the end of the conference, we would like to thank the organization team from DVM e.V. and the program committee for the successful organization and look forward to the next AK Bruch 2021 in Bremen.
