International Steel Casting Conference by MAGMA | 2022
At the invitation of MAGMA, our CEO Prof. Dr. Peter Langenberg participated in the international steel casting conference with a presentation on “Steel casting for use at low temperatures and in hydrogen applications.”
Over 100 participants from all over the world discussed current developments in the use of cast steel over two days. There was consensus among all participants that cast steel will also play an important role in future applications currently being discussed, such as mobility and the energy transition. The implementation of modern methods, such as casting simulations, as enabled by MAGMASOFT, contributes significantly to the further development of these goals.
For several years, IWT-Solutions has been working on merging mechanical and casting simulation. A key to this is the reliable prediction of the material properties of the usually heterogeneous cast structure using correlations or new methods. IWT-Solutions is currently working on developments in the fields of damage mechanics and artificial intelligence to solve this problem.
