Joint Industry Projects (JIP)

In safety-relevant industrial sectors such as pressure vessels, offshore wind, or oil and gas, many binding normative specifications are made. Further development of research and technology results in innovations that do not immediately find their way into standardization. These can become an obstacle to competition and innovation for industry.

The existing research results can be processed, supplemented and made accessible for standardization through a targeted pre-normative study. Since these are mostly cross-competitive topics, various industrial companies invest in joint industry projects and together achieve rapid adaptation.

IWT organizes studies, works on parts of them together with universities and other research partners and ensures a quick application of the results e.g. in a standard.
